The icon was never an outsider them. In fact, the much appreciated movie of Vishnu ‘Yajamana’ was entirely shot in the enchanting greenery of Aldoor. The hill adjacent to the town where the film was shot, is owned by former MLA of Chikmagalur late Chandre Gowda. The locals named the hill ‘Yajamanara Gudda’ after the film became a box office hit.

The Yajamanara Gudda was a temporary home for the entire team that was busy in shooting the film (2005-06). A vast set of the movie had increased the beauty of the hill.

The people of Aldoor had a great time with the Sahasa Simha. They admired him, interacted and took his autograph too. The shooting went on for about three months. The icon used to mingle with the locals, unhesitantly and humbly, in his leisure.

The Coffee Growers Association and the Junior Chamber had felicitated the actor at the Coffee Planters Club, to commemorate his short stay in Aldoor. The locals had prepared special dinner for Vishnu that included rice roti and chicken curry, the popular item of Malnad menu. The actor had openly appreciated the hospitality of Aldoor people.

Vishnuvardhan was on Yajanamanara Gudda during the shooting of many other films including ‘Rayaru Bandaru Mavana Manege’.
