BMTC to start additional trips on Bus Day today

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will observe 59th Bus Day on Thursday to encourage the public to use buses for their daily travel.

To mark the day, over and above the normal operation of 6,301 schedules with 78,510 trips, arrangements have been made to extend the operation of more than 1,500 general shift schedules.

This arrangement on the Bus Day, is beyond the normal schedule of 22 hours, thereby introducing additional trips to accommodate additional demand. The officials and employees of the BMTC will also travel in the buses to mark the day. New bus services are being introduced on following routes:

New routes

* Route no 507-PS from Peenya Basaveshwara bus station to KR Puram, via Kadugondanahalli, BEL, Hebbal, Kalyan Nagar and Ramamurthynagar, with six schedules.

* Route no 298-MV from Devanahalli to Devanahalli, via Avathi, Harohalli, Dandiganahalli, Vijayapura, Yaliyuru, Koramangala and Devanahalli government hospital, with one schedule.

* Route no 298-MD from Devanahalli to Devanahalli, via Devanahalli Government Hospital, Koramangala, Yaliyuru, Vijayapura, Dandiganahalli, Harohalli and Avathi, with one schedule.

* Route no 201-D from Binnamanagala to Central Silk Board, via Domlur bridge and Koramangala 80-feet road, with one schedule.

* Route no 328-A from Varthur to KR Puram, via Whitefield, Hope farm and Hoodi, with one schedule.
