Action Jackson
Hindi (U/A) ¬
Cast: Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Manasvi Mamgai
Director: Prabhu Dheva

Sonakshi Sinha is an extremely unlucky girl (dumb, if you will). One day, she sees Ajay Devgn in the buff and lady luck shines on her, brighter than floodlights. The next day, she manages another glimpse of Devgn — yes, pants and unmentionables down — and lady luck pops up again.

Sonakshi soon gets the moral of the story — marry Devgn so that the “show” goes on and her fortunes keep sparkling.

Now, Devgn is busy chopping people into pieces. The local goon and his sidekick (Kunaal Roy Kapur, more clumsy than comical) pick a fight every other day. Fine. But Devgn also decides to shake a leg in between. Now, two left feet don’t make for a pretty picture in a Prabhu Dheva film. After all, dance is one department which should have salvaged this action movie from going into free fall.

Speaking of action, new vamp in town Manasvi Mamgai does a better job than the two Devgns. (Yes, there are two. Never mind, this double is no delight.)

Miss Mamgai lusts after the sword-wielding “AJ” (Action Jackson, silly) to the extent of slashing wrists and kicking men out of skyscrapers. She has a brother to match in Tamil baddie Anand Raaj, the don who breaks a truckload of logs if someone questions his courage.

Mamgai is a good find. She shows more spunk (and leg) than Sonakshi whose acting is mostly restricted to rolling eyes. In disbelief, maybe.
We concur.
