Ulaibettu clash: DC promises action against culprits

Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim has promised that the district administration will take stern action against the culprits regarding Ulaibettu incident without considering caste or community and requested public to co-operate to maintain harmony in the city.

After hearing the public opinion in the peace meeting at Police Commissioner’s office here on Tuesday, he said that the district administration will pay the hospital bill of all those who have been injured in the attack and in the violence followed by it, who have been admitted at SCS Hospital, Tejaswini Hospital, A J Hospital and High Land Hospital.


Police Commissioner R Hithendra said that police inquiry is going on about Ulaibettu incident and report will be submitted within two to three days. About Goonda Act, he said that no FIR will be filed under Goonda Act and the allegation of political pressure behind bringing Goonda Act is baseless. The decision will be reviewed by the High Court three-Judge bench.

Till date, six persons have been booked under Goonda Act, three persons from each community. About illegal slaughter houses,  arrest has been made in one case. Written instruction has been served to many others and follow up will be done, he said.
