Puneeth, James shine

Puneeth’s 185 for Young Challenging Cricket Club (Chintamani) and James Keith Hoover’s five wickets for Engrades Cricket Club highlighted the action in the KSCA tournament for Group I (V Division) teams here.

Puneeth’s big hundred set the tone for Young Challenging CC’s win over SJP Cricket Club. After the Chintamani outfit had posted a huge 365/6 in 50 overs, SJP lost wickets at regular intervals to be bowled out for a paltry 163 in 29.1 overs to lose the match by 202 runs.

In another match, Engrades bowled out RC College for 143 in 43.2 overs with Hoover claiming five for 27. Engrades reached 144 for six in 37.5 overs for a four-wicket win.

City Cricketers (2) defeated Young Boys Cricket Club, Kolar, by four wickets. Vikas (5/24) and Shivashankar (5/24) did the damage as Young Boys were bowled out for 125 in 25.3 overs. City Cricketers (2) reached the target in 32 overs losing six wickets.

Young Boys Cricket Club, Kolar: 125 all out in 25.3 overs (Shivu 38; Vikas 5-24, Shivashankar 5-24) lost to City Cricketers (2): 126/6 in 32 overs (Uday 38 n.o., Parineetha 25 n.o.; Sharif 2-22, Venkatesh 2-21).

Young Challenging Cricket Club, Chintamani: 365/6 in 50 overs (Puneeth 185, Bhanu 44; Arvind 3-69, Likith 2-75) bt SJP Cricket Club: 163 all out in 29.1 overs (Nithin 43, Likith 51; Ravi NS 3-26, Vinod Kumar 2-19, Pavan 2-28).
