The New Year is almost here and people across the City are celebrating it in their own style. There are many who plan to celebrate it grandly with their friends and family.

Many clubs in the City, which are already decked up with bright decorations and lights for the season, are offering entertainment and excitement with quality family fun for their members and guests.

Bangalore Club, one of the prestigious clubs of the City, is all set for the countdown. “We will continue with our traditions. Apart from the New Year Eve Ball that will be held at the main lawn of the club with quality entertainment from the Goan band ‘A26’. We also have a New Year’s buffet dinner that will happen at the club’s dining hall,” says PV Jayashankar, president of the club.

Some clubs like the Indiranagar Club will be hosting a theme-based New Year’s Eve bash. “‘Bollywood Parade 2015’ will be on from 8 pm onwards. At this Bollywood theme New Year Bash, the venue will be set up like a film studio with posters of all actors, old and new. All acts on the stage will revolve around the theme of ‘Bollywood’. Bollywood singer and performer Priya Patel will perform live with Punjabi ‘dhol’ and dancers. One will also witness dancers performing item dance sequences from the films of the 1960s to 2014,” says M Nagendra, honorary secretary of the club. He says that the stage will also see DJ Praveen grooving before and after the countdown to the New Year.

“Every year, we try to make the bash better. The managing committee always gives the stage to new artistes and tries to accommodate a variety of programmes. This year, we are expecting more than 1,000 members to be  part of the programme,” he says.

Clubs like the Catholic Club, which intend to increase crowd interaction, are going to have a DJ entertaining the crowd. At many clubs, there are different entertainment programmes arranged for the day. Srikanth HS, honorary secretary with Bowring Institute, says that “there will be an array of performances and entertainment that will cater to all”.

He adds, “The programme which is called ‘Bang Bang 2015’, will start off from 8 pm onwards and will see electrifying performer Shayne Hyrapiet, celebrity MC Ada Khan, celebrity DJ Jolly Joshi from Kolkata and pop diva Jasleen Matharu coming together. There will also be an eclectic dance performance put together by ‘Oxygen’.”

“The tickets for the evening also include a variety of liquors and wines, unlimited beer, starters and a lavish buffet spread. Children will also be given goodie boxes and they will also have a special programme put together for them,” he says. He vouches that the club’s gathering will be the biggest in the City.

“There are a lot of top artistes performing. The security aspects have been taken additional care of. There will be CCTV cameras placed around the venue. There will be sufficient parking space arranged,” he says. To top this all, there will also be a 20 minute firecracker show.

There will be multiple programmes like a musical night along with electrifying performances held at Koramangala Club. Sivadasan P, general manager of the club, says that the New Year Eve’s programme will be a combination of “music, mischief and madness”.
