<p>IT services major Infosys on Wednesday announced the retirement of independent director Omkar Goswami from the board of directors with effect from December 31, 2014.<br /> <br /></p>.<p>Goswami, a professional economist who joined the board of directors in November 2000, served the company for more than a decade. He is the founder and chairman of the Corporate & Economic Research Group (CERG) Advisory Private Limited. <br /><br />He thanked the company for giving him the opportunity to serve on its board. “I joined the board when the company's annual revenues had just crossed the $200 million mark. I am demitting office at a time when revenues are exceeding $8 billion,” he said.<br /><br /> Goswami thanked the company for its commitment to transparency, to strong corporate values and to integrity. <br /><br />K V Kamath, who is the Infosys non-executive Chairman, said, “Omkar Goswami has been a part of the Infosys journey for more than a decade and the company has benefitted from his rich experience as a professional economist.</p>
