Rly tickets at NR Mohalla post office

South Western Railways (SWR), Mysuru, is launching computerised reservation facility at the post office on Shivaji Road, N R Mohalla, from January 9.

According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, SWR, K Anil Kumar, barring Sundays and government holidays, all types of reservation facilities, like tatkal, can be made from 9 am to 2 pm.

Except senior citizen category, no concessional tickets will be issued here. An additional amount of Rs15 per ticket for second class, Rs 20 for three-tier AC coaches (3A) and Rs 30 for two tier AC coaches (2A) will be levied as service charge.

Man bites nephew
A 30-year-old man has been admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru, after his uncle bit off a part of his left ear, at Udbur in Jayapura police limits, in Mysuru taluk, recently.

The injured, identified as Prakash, was allegedly attacked by his paternal uncle Devanna during a quarrel on Monday.

Both families have been residing next to each others house and have been quarrelling over a property dispute. On that day, Gayatri, wife of Devanna got into an argument with Kempamma, mother of Prakash. Both Devanna and Prakash intervened, following which the former bit off a part of the left ear of his nephew.

Cop dies as lorry hits bike
A police head constable died of the injuries suffered in a road accident in Siddhartha Nagar Traffic police limits, in Mysuru, on Thursday.

Mahadeva Swamy (52), attached to Udaygiri police station is the deceased. Swamy who was posted on check-post duty at the outer-ring road, on Azeez Sait double road, was riding his two-wheeler towards his work place, when a goods lorry rammed into his two-wheeler from behind, and severely injuring him.

He was rushed to Cauvery Hospital on Bannur road near Yaraganahalli circle, where he breathed his last. The lorry has been seized and the driver is arrested.
