DC warns hotels against improper waste disposal

 District administration has taken the matter seriously. Licenses of those hotels who do not adhere to the waste disposal rules and throw wastes according to their whims and fancies will be cancelled, said DC V Ponnuraj.

According to a press release, Hotel Srinivas and Rangoli hotel in B C Road are found to be dumping wastes on the roadside and thus create environment pollution. Bantwal taluk EO has been directed to take action against the hotel owners. If the situation continues, then action will be initiated against EO and hotel owners.

Hotel owners have been directed to make arrangement for the transport of the wastes to the dumping yard for disposal. Meanwhile, the life insurance companies and its agents have been pasting handouts in the city, marring the beauty of the city.

Pasting handouts on public property and writings on walls have been banned in the city. If anyone found indulging in it, action will be initiated against them under Prevention of Defacement of Property Act. Pasting posters, banners, handouts on the walls of a government building and its compound wall is banned in Mangalore City limits.
To paste handouts, posters, one need to take prior permission from MCC or TMC. The advertisements rules have to be followed. Co-operation of the citizens are essential for maintaining beauty of the city, DC added.
