Karnataka High Court Chief Justice D H Waghela will be in Dakshina Kannada on a two-day visit on February 7 and 8, Principal District and Sessions Judge Uma M G said.
Briefing reporters, at the District Court in Mangaluru, she said Chief Justice D H Waghela will inaugurate a workshop and an interaction programme on Juvenile Justice Act and protection of children organised by Karnataka State Legal Service Authority, District Legal Service Authority, District Administration, Juvenile Justice Board, Bar Association, Women and Children’s Welfare Department and other organisations, at Netravati auditorium of Zilla Panchayat on February 7 at 10.30 am.
High Court Judge Huluvadi G Ramesh will preside over the function. High Court Judges Abdul Nazeer and A N Venugopal Gowda will be the chief guests. Karnataka State Legal Service Authority Member Secretary Ashok G Nijagannavar will be the convenor. Karnataka State Bar Council Chairman P P Hegde, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim and others will participate in the inaugural ceremony. Law workshop

The district judiciary, public works department and the Moodbidri Bar Association will organise the inauguration ceremony of newly constructed court complex at Moodbidri on February 8 at 11 am. Chief Justice D H Waghela will inaugurate the building, while High Court Judge, District Administrative Judge A N Venugopal Gowda will preside over the function.
High Court Judges N K Patil, Abdul Nazeer, District-in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai, Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fisheries Minister K Abhaychandra Jain, High Court Registrar General B A Patil, Moodbidri Bar Association Founder President M Bahubali Prasad will be the guests of honour.
“The new complex will be of great use for Moodbidri. A total of 1,831 cases are pending in the Moodbidri court. There is a proposal of building a court complex at Belthangady as well,” Uma M G said.
