Deeply disturbed by the untimely death of their newly married daughter, a couple from Pandavapura town want to seek permission for euthanasia from the President of India.

Addressing the media here on Friday, Swamy Gowda K N from Mahatma Gandhi Nagar in Pandavapura, Mandya district, urged the police to bring the culprits responsible for his daughter’s death to book.

Gowda said that his daughter K S Lavanya was hacked to death for dowry by her husband Anand Kumar, her in-laws Savithramma and Neelegowda and her sister-in-law Geetha, last November. At the time of the wedding, Kumar was given 150 grams of gold and Rs eight lakh for wedding expenses, he said.

“But the police cooked up a story and said that she died due to epilepsy in the autopsy report,” said Gowda. He said that there was no history of epilepsy in his family.

He said that he would seek the President’s permission for euthanasia – for him and his family, including his wife Shylaja, their 17-year-old daughter and his aged mother, if the police did not arrest the people responsible for the death of his daughter.
