<p>As the battle of ballots raged in the capital, selfies flaunting 'inked' fingers were clearly the craze of the day with scores of pictures hitting social networking sites.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Fingers, marked with the indelible ink, were on display on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, representing young India's sense of pride in their democracy.<br /><br />Hashtags like #DelhiVotes, #GetInked were trending throughout the day as 'voting' seemed to have assumed a cool quotient.<br /><br />One Varun Sharma posted a selfie on twitter and wrote, "Came all the way from F'furt (Frankfurt) 2 #GetInked 2 c a Govt which is stable n experienced."<br /><br />Kshitij Garg posted, "The only day when you tell your parents that you are going to get inked and they respond by saying ruko beta hum bhi chlte hai #DelhiVotes," an apparent reference to the Indian parents' reluctance towards tattoo art.<br /><br />Chetan Seth wrote, "#getinked Love Delhi, Love to exercise your rights, feel responsible& deliver...Do your bit...."<br /><br />"Don't point finger! Get them inked #IVoteSelfie #DelhiElections," tweeted Devender Narula.<br /><br />The enthusiasm was noticeable among the youth, of which around 1.50 lakh are first-time voters, out of the 1.33 crore strong electorate in the capital.<br /><br />Vijender Bora posted on Facebook, "With parents, family, and people's blessings I have done my duty...Now its your turn to vote for Safe+ Delhi #VotingSelfie #DelhiVotes #DelhiElections (sic)."<br /><br />Even polling staff were seen clicking selfies with AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal right after he cast his vote at B K Dutt Colony booth in his constituency New Delhi.<br /><br />Voting began at 8 AM across the 70 Assembly seats of Delhi in which a total of 673 candidates are in the fray.</p>
