Second division assistant caught accepting bribe

The Lokayukta police arrested a Second Division Assistant (SDA) at the District Registrar’s office in Vyalikaval in the City, while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000.

The accused, A Arun, was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
The complainant, M Hydher, a resident of Papireddypalya in Nagarabhavi, runs a volunteer organisation called ‘Samaja Parivartha.’

He had approached the district registrar’s office to register the organisation.
The accused, second division assistant, demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 and also received
Rs 3,000 as advance to register the organisation. Hydher filed a complaint with the Lokayukta police and a trap was laid.

Bribe money recovered
SDA Arun was trapped red-handed in his office while accepting the bribe. The bribe money has been recovered from the accused and further investigation is on, an official said.
