Man strangles wife with cloth

A man strangled his 25-year-old wife at their residence in Sulikunte village under Nelamangala rural police limits on Thursday.

Premalatha, a garment factory worker, is the dead. She was married to Vasanth, 30, around five years ago and had a three-year-old son.

On Thursday morning, Vasanth left his son at his mother-in-law’s place and returned home. The couple then started fighting over some issue. In a fit of rage, Vasanth strangulated Premalatha to death using a cloth.

Premalatha’s mother came looking for her daughter as she had not come to pick up her son and found the house locked. When Premalatha’s colleagues told her that she had not come for work, the mother approached the police. Premalatha’s body was found when the police broke open the door. Vasanth had fled the spot by then. Preliminary investigation suggested that Vasanth had killed her.
