Celebrations in style

Last Updated 08 March 2015, 17:09 IST

Who doesn’t like to celebrate their birthday? Actress Radhika Pandit, who turned a year older recently,  says she doesn’t remember not celebrating any of her birthdays.

“It might sound funny but my parents still decorate the house with balloons. My mother picks up my birthday dress and I always have a close bunch of friends over at home,” says Radhika.

Radhika confesses that she usually loses count of the number of  cakes she cuts on her birthday. “It's amazing how so many people remember my birthday and come from far-flung corners of the City just to wish me. It is overwhelming and humbling,” she states.

Meanwhile, Radhika has her hands full with ‘Doddamane Huduga’ in which she will be acting opposite Puneeth for the second time. “I’ve always admired Puneeth for his commitment towards work and my character in the film gels well with his. When you are around Puneeth, you never feel like you are with a super star.

He is humble and always willing to help,” she says. Radhika also finds the team of ‘Doddamane Huduga’ very warm. “I play the character of a rich girl and it’s a lot like my character in ‘Drama’,” she adds.

The first release of the year for Radhika is ‘Endendigu’ in which she plays a modern girl and she also wrapping up work on ‘Zoom’ for which she has changed her look. Radhika has been paired with her
co-actors but she thinks these things are best ignored.

“I don’t know why I should even bother reacting to such reports. People can go on speculating. When it’s time for me to make an official announcement about my marriage or if I am seeing somebody, I will. Until then, things written about me don’t really bother me,” she says.

Every actor fears being typecast and Radhika is no exception. That’s precisely why she is eager to do as many different roles as she can.

“I think all my projects have had something different to offer me. All my characters have given me enough scope for performance and I am glad that I have been able to contribute rather substantially to every project I have done thus far,” she wraps up.
