Aditya Pancholi arrested after pub brawl

Finding himself on the wrong side of the law once again, controversial actor Aditya Pancholi got arrested on Sunday for getting into a brawl the previous night at a popular pub in the posh Juhu Tara Road locality here.

On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, 50-year-old Pancholi visited the Trilogy pub at Hotel Sea Princess, where he, in an inebriated state, is said to have asked the DJ to play Hindi music and not just English songs.

When the DJ rejected his request, the two got into a tiff. When the bouncers intervened, the actor roughed them up and hurled abuses at them. Pancholi is also accused of having used his phone to bang the head of bouncer Mandar Patole (29) when he was being escorted out for creating a ruckus and damaging a counter at the pub.

When the Santacruz police were called, they came to the spot and arrested him.
Pancholi was arrested on the grounds of criminal intimidation, public nuisance, breach of peace and assault charges.

Later, he was produced before the magistrate’s court at Bandra, which granted him bail after judicial remand.

A year ago, he had roughed up a female journalist for asking questions about his son, Suraj Pancholi, who was arrested for the suicide of actor-model Jiah Khan on June 10, 2013.

Suraj was in a live-in relationship with the Jiah about the time of her suicide. Jiah’s mother Rabia had accused Suraj of abetting her daughter’s suicide, but the Bombay HC granted him bail on July 2, 2013 .
