As many as 6.10 lakh candidates are expected to appear for Karnataka II PUC exams, which will begin on Thursday (March 12). Business studies and chemistry papers are scheduled for Thursday.
There are 4,96,900 freshers, 31,972 private candidates and 82,067 repeaters. Among the candidates, 3,00,274 are girls and 3,10,665 boys. About 2,000 students cannot appear for the exams owing to attendance shortage.
The Department of Pre-University Education will conduct the exams across 1,017 centres. There are 205 sensitive centres. Seventy-three are hyper sensitive centres.
