RWF edge Students

Last Updated 23 March 2015, 19:15 IST

Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) recorded their second win in the BDFA Super Division football league as they beat Students Union 2-1 on Monday.

A Nandakumar own goal had put Students Union ahead in the 40th minute, but RWF came back strongly in the second half as Rajesh scored a brace finding the back of the net in the 47th and the 68th minutes to give his team three points.

Title at stake
Army Service Corps (ASC) will take on Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) in their final league encounter knowing that a draw will be enough for them to clinch the title on Tuesday.

ASC trail South United by a point who completed their league assignments with a convincing 4-2 win over Bengaluru FC on Sunday. The victory meant South United claimed the top spot with 19 points.

But, ASC can leapfrog the leaders and could have their hands on the trophy if they manage a draw against ADE. With nothing separating the top two — South United and ASC — in the points column, the equation will boil down to goal difference where ASC enjoy a healthy advantage of +13 to South United’s +11.
Results: Super Division: RWF: 2 (Rajesh 47th, 68th) bt Student Union: 1 (Nandakumar 40th o.g.).

‘A’ Division: KSP: 4 (Girish N B 18th, Srinath 20th, Pradeep Jr 39th pen, Karthik 72nd) bt Tilak Memorial: 0.
