<p>A youth from an audit firm was taken into custody by the Seshadripuram police for trying to deposit 40 counterfeit notes of Rs 500 denomination at a State Bank of India branch in the City on Wednesday. He has been identified as Shailesh Yadav.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The police said Yadav came to the State Bank of India, Seshadripuram branch, on Wednesday afternoon to deposit Rs 8 lakh in cash. While counting and verifying the notes, the cashier realised 40 notes of Rs 500 denomination were fake. <br /><br />He immediately informed the bank manager who alerted the police.<br /><br />“We rushed to the bank and took Yadav into custody for questioning. The bank manager Hari lodged a complaint in this regard. The police are investigating to ascertain the source of the fake notes,” said a police officer.<br /></p>
