Boy commits suicide

 A 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in  east Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area on Sunday eveni-ng.

Rohit was a Class 5 student of a Municipal Corporation of Delhi school located near his residence.

His mother, Chameli Devi, found him hanging from a rope tied to the ceiling fan, a police official said.

A police control room vehicle rushed him to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

“No suicide note was found in the room, so we are question his family members and friends to ascertain the exact reason behind his decision to take such an extreme step,” the official added.

Rohit’s body was handed over to his family after post-mortem on Monday.

 He is survived by his mother, who works as a domestic help in Pandav Nagar area, and two younger brothers.

His father, Vijendra, had passed away some years ago.

3 injured in accident

Three persons, including two women, suffered minor injuries after their car rammed into a mini-truck on Ferozshah Road. Medical examination of the car driver, Rakesh Kumar, found that he had consumed alcohol. The other occupants were Kriti and Priyanka.

The vehicle rammed into a Mahindra Champion mini-truck at 7.45 pm on Sunday. The mini-truck’s driver James Jessi told police that he was going from Panchkuian Road to Sewa Nagar with his brother-in-law Shankar Lal when Kumar hit their vehicle from behind.

“Both vehicles were damaged, and Shankar, Kriti and Priyanka suffered minor injuries.

They were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and discharged after first-aid treatment,” another police official said.

A case of rash and drunken driving has been filed against Gurgaon-resident Rakesh with Parliament Street police station.
