The Transport department on Tuesday, seized 200 vehicles including 25 private buses for various permit violations in an enforcement drive conducted in the City.
According to the officials, the seized vehicles include 25 private buses, 50 maxi cabs and 30 other-state cars, while the rest were goods vehicles which were transporting goods more than the permissible limit.
The department collected Rs 60 lakh by way of tax and penalty. Due to the raid, operations of private buses came to a halt from Doddaballapur/Devanahalli to the City causing inconvenience to passengers. The BMTC and KSTRC buses were pressed into service as an alternative arrangement.
