Karnataka delegation visits Germany

In a bid to attract more investments into Karnataka from German companies, a high level delegation led by Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee visited Germany recently.

Mukherjee met Minister for European Affairs and Regional Relations of Bavaria Beate Merk at the Bavarian State Chancellery. The delegation also met Johann Schachtner, head, department of industry and internationalisation at the Bavarian ministry of economy, media, energy, and technology.

Speaking at a meeting with Indian CEOs based in Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg, Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee encouraged Indian companies there to invest in India, particularly in Karnataka. The delegation also held a series of roundtable meetings with German business captains in Munich.

Gaurav Gupta, commissioner for industrial development, made a presentation on the vast potential of Karnataka. Indian companies which attended include HCL, Indian Forum Institute of Ayurveda and Yoga, InfoQuest, and others. German companies like Siemens, Eurofighter, HypoVereinsbank, Osram Data, etc. too participated.
