One can have panoramic view of the confluence of river and sea amidst greenery and the sunset. However, vistors will be disappointed at the pathetic condition of the spot. <br /><br />The tourism department had constructed a watch tower to view the sunset and restroom for tourists at Kukkude 23 years ago. However, the watch tower and restroom is in deplorable condition. A children’s park with slides, beautiful garden and play area was laid along with watch tower. <br /><br />However, as no one was entrusted with the responsibility to maintain the park and watch tower, it is now crying for attention. Many rides and toys in the park are in a dilapidated condition. “Many toys and rides are covered with rust, posing danger to kids. The overgrowth of weeds is another problem,” a vistor said. Owing to lack of maintenance, the rest room, toilets and guest house rooms have also remained unused and pathetic. <br /><br />Abbaga Daraga Veerabhadra Temple is situated adjacent to Kukkude spot. Hundreds of devotees visit the temple daily. If Kukkude watch tower and park is developed, then it will provide a leisure place to rest and enjoy the beauty of the nature. <br /><br />As people do not have information on the spot, not many visit. The elected representatives and officials from tourism department should make an effort to develop the spot as a tourist destination, said the local residents. <br /><br /><br /></p>
