Haripriya, who forayed into Kannada films three years ago, with not so popular Manasugala Maathu Madhura has now turned a multilingual actress by working in Tamil, Telugu and Tulu movies.

After experiencing both ups and downs in her career, the actress has now decided to choose her roles carefully.

“I want to establish myself as a good actress in the industry, hence I have decided not to accept every offer that comes my way. The role should have some substance in it like the one I have done in Kallara Santhe. There is no meaning in doing namesake roles which don’t stress on the performance,” she clarifies.

Haripriya confirms that she is not in the rat race for the number one position. “When I prove myself as a capable actress, offers will automatically come pouring my way. My strength is I can fit into both glamourous and homely roles.”

She never dreamt of being an actress but destiny did it for her. Not many people know that Hariprya acted in a Tulu movie Badhi from which her acting career took shape. “When I was in PUC, one of the production managers, approached me for a role in Badhi. It had a social message against dowry system and I gained a lot of experience from that movie. I also worked with Dr Richard Castellino during that time,” she says.

Challenging Star Darshan and Huchcha fame Sudeep are her favourite actors.
“Since my school days, I was an ardent fan of both the actors. I like Darshan for his stylish appearance and Sudeep for his healthy attitude. I am looking forward to working in their films,” she gushes.

Haripriya seems to have no issues about heroines from other languages working in Kannada movies.

“Initially, I had a notion that they are stealing our opportunities. Now I have understood the fact that there is no harm in exchanging talent. I too have worked in different languages. Some scripts are prepared keeping a particular actor or actress in mind. In such cases only that person can bring justice to the role,” she states.
