Buoyed by the overwhelming response from consumers, the US Polo Association brand managed by USPA Properties, a wholly owned subsidiary of the United States Polo Association (USPA), will expand its India footprint soon with more mono brand stores.

In an interaction with Deccan Herald, USPA Properties President and CEO David Cummings said India is an important market for its global expansion plans as the country is witnessing a sea change with online market penetration.

“We have already opened 203 brand showrooms in the country. It will go up to 250 by the end of this year. We are also planning to enter the kids and denim wear segments with mono brand showrooms in 2015,” said  Cummings.

When asked about the penetration of the eCommerce business in fashion, he said the company is analysing the trend and building up a strategy. “Our India licensee Arvind Lifestyle Brands is doing a fantastic work in expanding our brand presence in India. We have identified five online players to expand our footprint in the country and more will be added soon,” he said.

Polo Association, a 125-year-old global brand,  partners with licensees throughout the world to provide consumers with branded apparel, accessories, luggage, watches,  etc.
“In India we sold around $50 million merchandise and will register around 40 per cent growth this year,” he said.
