In a press release issued in Bangalore, after it figured in the Centre’s list of 44 Deemed Universities to be withdrawn of the deemed status, the University said, in recognition of the qualitative and consistent credentials of the institution over several years of its contribution to the field of higher education, the UGC and MHRD notified it as a deemed to be University.
Within 12 months of its existence as a Deemed University, the institution had recorded a noteworthy progress in introducing research programmes (MPhil and PhD) in several disciplines. The University said, it strongly believed that the it figured in the list of 44 Deemed Universities, either by mistaken factual information or due to an error in judgement. It would take up the matter with the authorities concerned.
