<p>A west Delhi property dealer was abducted on Wednesday for refusing to hand over a plot of land despite receiving the payment. He was, however, rescued in quick time.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Two of the three men involved in the abduction were also nabbed in the operation. A hunt is on for their third accomplice, police said on Thursday.<br /><br />The kidnappers had made a ransom demand of Rs 16 lakh from the victim’s wife. To avenge the alleged cheating, the abductors also beat him up in a locked room.<br /><br />Victim Ravi Deshwal lives in west Delhi’s Janakpuri with his family. His wife Manjeet approached the local police station on Wednesday after she received a ransom call of Rs 16 lakh from Deshwal’s abductors.<br /><br />Police lodged a case and formed a team to crack the case.<br />Police said they sought the help of technical surveillance and local information to determine the possible hideouts of the suspects.<br /><br />Help arrived in the form of a tip-off about the identity of the criminals upon which several possible hideouts of the suspects were raided. They were finally tracked down in Rohini Sector 4.<br /><br />Police managed to arrest Birju and Kuldeep while Kake managed to escape. The victim was rescued from a room they had confined him to.<br /><br />Two mobile phones and a Santro car, allegedly used in the crime, have been seized.<br />Interrogation of the suspects revealed the reason behind the abduction.<br />Accused Birju had planned to buy a plot of land for Rs 6 lakh through Deshwal. Though Birju paid Rs 4 lakh, Deshwal did not book the plot in his name.<br /><br />When Birju demanded that his money be returned, Deshwal handed him cheques worth Rs 4 lakh. The cheques, however, bounced.<br /><br />This had left Birju angry and he decided to seek revenge as well as the return of his money upon which he hatched the abduction plan.<br /><br />He lured the other two to be a part of the plan by promising them a good share of the ransom amount, said police.</p>
