Work on skywalk begins near Esteem Mall

Last Updated 06 June 2015, 19:27 IST

Almost six months after the grisly mishap at the Esteem Mall killing two people on the spot and leaving many others injured, the BBMP has started the construction of a skywalk for the pedestrians’ safety.

The BBMP had earlier announced that the skywalk may be built on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis by the Columbia Asia Hospital at an estimated cost of Rs 2.6 crore. The work brings a sigh of relief to those who have been demanding a skywalk for pedestrians in the wake of heavy vehicular movement on the stretch.
