Sixth Alva's Pragati to be held on June 20-21

Last year, 216 firms took part, over 18,000 job aspirants had registered; 3,764 job offers were made

Alva’s Pragati-2015, an annual mass placement drive will be organised by Alva’s Education Foundation at Vidyanagara campus in Moodbidri on June 20 and 21.

Briefing mediapersons in the city on Saturday, Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva said the foundation was committed to the cause of creating employment opportunities for rural youth who have limited access to employment market.

The sixth edition of the Alva’s Pragati will see participation of more than 250 companies. Prominent companies that are participating are Oracle, EY, IBM, TCS, Amazon, Bicon, Adani, Flipkart, TechMahindra, Godrej, ITC, Taj Group, ICICI Bank, Wipro, TVS, AllCargo, Standard Chartered Bank, Axis Bank, Kirloskar Electric, Himalaya and Idea.

The first edition of Alva’s Pragati saw 38 companies participating in it. Last Year, 216 companies had taken part and over 18,000 job aspirants had registered with more than 3,764 offers rolled out.

Dr Alva said that more opportunities will be available for BSc candidates. Over 40 manufacturing firms will recruit ITI/Diploma students. Registration is free for both companies and candidates. A colour-coded card is given to each candidate that will match the right candidate with the right profile and correspondingly the colour is displayed next to the company name in all displays. The candidates will be guided at Udyoga Mahiti Kendra.

 Accommodation will be provided to outstation candidates participating in the drive. Buses will be provided to ITI candidates from their respective institutes to the venue on both the days. Opportunity will also be given for students passed out in 2012, 2013 and 2014 in the drive.

Candidates should get five to 10 passport size photographs along with updated resumes, copies of all marks cards attached, and online registration number/ID.
The participants have to be present at Vidyanagara campus in Moodbidri at 8.30 am.
