Last Updated 07 June 2015, 18:12 IST

The Bhubaneswar Police late on Friday night arrested P K Iyer, vice-chairman of Deccan Chronicle Holding Limited (DCHL), after conducting a raid on a five star hotel in the city.

Iyer was in the most wanted list of the CBI in connection with the multi-crore bank fraud case and was absconding since long.

Police Commissioner R K Sharma said: “Iyer was nabbed on the basis of an intelligence input. We conducted the raid on the five star hotel and successfully arrested him after receiving pin-point inputs from the directorate of intelligence. He was taken into custody after proper verification.”

“Iyer was staying in the hotel for the last several days using a fake name. The room he was staying was booked in the name of a lady. However, we did not find any woman occupant during the raid,” Sharma added.
