Q
I  used to have a constant itching sensation in the arm pits. Now, a dark patch has formed  in and around the area. How can I get rid of the dark patch?

A

Armpits appear dark because hair growth after waxing is visible under the skin of fair women. Dark armpits could also be caused due to excessive sweating in the underarm region. Perhaps, you are allergic to a particular anti-perspirant or deodorant. Try applying an anti-fungal powder to your underarm region after your bath. Change your clothes as soon as you reach home, especially if you tend to sweat a lot.

Make sure you keep your underarms clean and wax them regularly. Don’t shave and do not use hair removal cream. Avoid wearing synthetic fabrics. Make a paste with a pinch of turmeric powder, a spoonful of cucumber juice and a spoonful of lemon juice. Smear this paste on your underarms and leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. Make a paste by combining a teaspoon of milk, gram flour and a tablespoon of curd. Sprinkle a pinch of turmeric into this mixture and apply the paste on your underarms. After it becomes dry and flaky, rinse with water. Slice a lemon and rub the fresh juice on your underarms. Leave on for some time before washing. I hope these tips help you. If the problem persists, please consult a dermatologist.
