The Lokayukta Special Court on Friday remanded Vinod Goel, the mining baron arrested for irregularities in one of his firms, Janthakal Enterprises.
The bail application filed by Goel will come up for hearing on June 16. The Lokayukta Special Investigation Team (SIT) on mining cases had arrested Goel, who faces four cases in SIT, on June 6 in Mumbai.
The Lokayukta report on illegal mining (part-2) stated that Janthakal Enterprises had filed two forged MoEF letters to mine in old dumps in Chitradurga. The lease was renewed with retrospective effect for 40 years in one day. The Lokayukta court remanded Goel in judicial custody till June 19.
