Addressing a news conference on Wednesday she said that she had come to power as a farmer and now after the completion of the tenure as ZP chief she would like to get back to her profession of farming. She clarified that she does not nurture any political ambition but if provided an opportunity she will work for the people sincerely.

“During my 20 months tenure election code of conduct was in force due to Assembly, Council and Lok Sabha elections. Hence developmental activities suffered. Despite this the 12 months of time that I had received have been fruitful and has brought me great satisfaction,” she said.

She said that despite all the comments and criticism by the BJP, the support of Congress members was something she will  never be able to forget.

“This year no funds from the government has returned unused. Agriculture sector saw wonderful progress like never before, during my tenure. Rs 5.60 crore was spent on agriculture sector alone,” she informed.

There is an immediate need to implement various programmes for the welfare of the tribals.

“Though a total of Rs 1 crore was ear marked for Comprehensive Tribal Development Programme, it could not be implemented effectively due to the lack of officials,” she said.
