A healthy lifestyle is a way of living that includes both physical and mental well-being. On the same lines, Yoddhas - a UNESCO awarded NGO working towards cancer awareness and support in India in association with NCC is organising an awareness campaign for a etter life on June 20 at Parade Ground, Army Cantonment, on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

The awareness campaign will be inaugurated by Major General AK Sehgal, NCC Head, Delhi. The campaign will witness a participation of 2,000 NCC children and Army officials who will participate in the day-long event to educate and create awareness among the participants about the importance of including Yoga in our daily regiment for a healthy lifestyle.

The campaign will also include programs and fun activities like play performance by Team Yoddhas, comic plays by the various volunteers and contests to name some. An interactive health session will be the key highlight of the campaign where health experts will interact and address queries regarding a healthy lifestyle and general well-being.

Yoga offers a multitude of benefits. For one, it balances the relationship between mind, body and soul. A lot of schools have also started organising yoga sessions and classes for their students to promote overall development and help reduce the students’ academic stress.

Rahul Yadav, founder of Yoddhas and also a cancer survivor will talk about ways to avoid bad habits like smoking and drinking.

The participating NCC students will take an oath to avoid unhealthy lifestyle and activities that leave a negative effect on mind and body.

Yoddhas meaning “fighters” refers to the fighters fighting the hard battle against cancer. The NGO provides a platform for cancer patients, caregivers and doctors and provides a chance to all the members to explore and discuss various issues regarding the deadly disease.

The event is on at Parade Ground, Army Cantonment, June 20, 11 am to 1 pm.
