The Lokayukta police have registered an FIR against a police constable attached to Vyalikaval police station for demanding a bribe.

Ravi has claimed that Dhanesh Rao, jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), demanded Rs one crore on behalf of the then Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar. Ravi has also submitted the audio clip of the conversation with constable Chandrashekhar.

The scuffle at Orange Bar occurred on October 30, 2014 and according to Ravi the jurisdictional DCP, ACP and police inspector demanded money on behalf of Alok Kumar. “There is no evidence as of now against any other police official except the constable. Based on the audio clip received along with the complaint, a preliminary enquiry was carried out. Later, it was decided to register an FIR against the constable. Further investigation is on,” an official said.
