School Master is Late Vishnuvardhan’s 199th film and his acting is just as powerful and emotional as always, felt those in the audience. It was hard to watch the movie and even harder to reconcile that he is no more, was the common refrain that ran through the stars present.

Prajwal’s father Devaraj has acted with Vishnuvardhan many a time and Prajwal says that as a child he used to go to the shooting location with his father. “Vishnu sir’s performance was brilliant. It was so real that it was hard to call it acting. It was a combination of death, sorrow and emotion that one got to see on screen,” Prajwal told Metrolife.

Jennifer Kotwal who flew in to the City, for a few hours, just to watch the movie, says that Vishnuji was among the first to appreciate her performance in Jogi. “I think he is the Amitabh Bachchan of Sandalwood. His role in the film was so intense and I truly miss him,” she says. It is hard to come to terms with Vishnu sir’s demise, averred Priyanka Upendra. “He was such a calm, non-violent and a balanced person. The fact that he is no more really hits you hard,” she observes.

Actress Sanjana said that she literally needed a box of tissues during the screening and had a hard time fighting her tears, “to watch a movie of Vishnu sir who is no more was too much to digest. His death came so suddenly, that it still hasn’t sunk in. I was among those who followed his work very closely,” she wraps up.
