Congress MLA from Ballari City, Anil Lad, has been remanded in CBI custody till Monday.
The CBI had arrested him on Wednesday in connection with the illegal export of iron ore from Belekeri port. He was produced before the CBI special court on Thursday.
Sources said Lad had refused to answer certain questions about the supply of 15,000 metric tonnes of ore to Shree Mallikarjuna Shipping Private Ltd, which exported it from the port. The CBI will question him on the mining and transport of ore.
