Namma Padasale was inaugurated by District-in-Charge Minister Krishna J Palemar on Tuesday in Taluk office premises. Palemar said that with the Padasale thrown open for service of the people, lots of people will be benefited as all services that they would come to Taluk Office for are now available under single roof.

The Padasale has four counters viz— the reception, the RTC counter, the Rural Digital Service and the document. Touch Screen holding mutation status etc is also placed in the Padasale for the convenience of the people.

Padasale has token system so that people can be seated instead of waiting in the queue till their turn came.

OTCS

Keeping in mind the rush and inconvenience caused to the parents of the students specifically to get caste and income certificate during the starting of the academic years, District Administration has started Over The Counter Service (OCTS) wherein the income and caste certificate can be availed within a day.

Speaking about the system, Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj said that OTCS has been inaugurated in three villages of Mangalore taluk and 11 villages of Bantwal taluk and the entire district will be under this service within a month.

“In the old system the application had to be verified by personnel through field enquiry. This used to take about 15 to 20 days and perhaps even more during the beginning of the academic years.”

“Further, in Nemmadi Kendra about 40 per cent of the works load was regarding the income and caste certificate. With the OTCS the income and caste details of every person has been fed after a pre survey into the computer and on receiving applications, it can be given to the people within no time,” said the DC.

He said that about 2 to 3 per cent in rural area and 10 to 15 per in urban areas may have been missed and these may have to go through the regular procedure of getting the certificate.

However he suggested that people can start taking these certificates right away so  as to avoid rush during peak seasons. He said that the entire system will be in place in order by February. The certificates will be available in Nemmadi Kendra as well, he clarified.
