It’s that time of the year when fashion connoisseurs from across the country will be seen thronging at one place. It is the Amazon India Couture Week 2015 that enamours the style connoisseurs with the latest in haute couture.

Organised by The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), this edition of India Couture Week will witness a line-up of acclaimed and emerging designers showcasing India’s finest designs through 11 stunning shows. Spanning over five days, the event will take place from July 29 to August 2, at the Taj Palace Hotel in the Capital.

With an impressive line-up of 12 participating designers, there is much more than just extravagant sets and beautiful clothes, there are exclusive off-site shows by leading
designers for a visual treat. AICW 2015 celebrates heritage with modern-day inspiration, and young talent.

Metrolife went around and has come up with a list of shows which are not to be missed!
The grand opening of AICW 2015, by Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is a must attend. The designer will be showcasing a unique collection. The show will be even more special as the iconic red soles by Christian Louboutin will be seen on the catwalk. One can also catch a glimpse of Louboutin as he is expected to make an appearance during the five-day event.

The debut show of Rahul Mishra and Debarun Mukherjee is also a must attend. Mishra integrates the rich heritage of Indian craft with the constantly varying pulse of global fashion. He will be presenting a blend of therustic-ness of Indian art and craft, and the earthiness of Indian handloom textiles with the fineness of today’surban fashion.

Kolkata-based designer Debarun Mukherjee will launch his debut bridal-festive 2015 collection in association with Indian wear label ‘Heroine’. Mukherjee’s debut couture collection takes a modern interpretation of Bollywood styles of various decades --- from the 1940s to the current times. One will get to witness an interesting interplay of colours fused with timeless silhouttes, fabrics and embroidery. An interesting play of sets, production and music will add to the runway drama. The collection traverses through black and white, sepia, psychedelic, pastels, romantic, and tone on tone.

Do not miss the exclusive off-site collection show by Rohit Bal that will surely transport the viewer to the world of fantasy.

And last, but definitely not the least. The vivacious closing show by style guru Manish Malhotra is a must watch, must attend by all. Known for his fantabulous rendition of the most coveted trends, his couture collection will be a celebration of intricate craftsmanship and admiration for traditional hues. Malhotra will bring ‘Couture Soiree’, an evening reminiscent of the old world charm from the 1950s, when western fashion was being revolutionised and fashion shows had a sense of an intimate experience and luxury. The designer will also be presenting a preview of his limited edition ‘Manish Malhotra London Label’. The show also marks the celebration of 10 successful years of label 'Manish Malhotra' in August 2015.

So all the fashionista out there, go get your seats reserved for the show you can’t afford to miss!
