Hoax bomb call at Yeshwantpur TTMC

Last Updated 07 August 2015, 20:37 IST

Confusion and panic reigned at the Yeshwantpur Traffic and Transit Management Centre (TTMC) on Friday afternoon following a bomb alert call to the controller’s room.

An unidentified man called the controller’s room around 3.30 pm, saying that a bomb had been planted in the place which would explode any time.

Police rushed to the spot with the bomb detection and disposal and sniffer dog squads in tow and checked the place thoroughly, but didn’t find any explosives. The call turned out to be hoax.

BMTC Director (Security and Vigilance) Dr B A Mahesh said: “The BMTC staff found an empty box but it is unclear where exactly it was found.” He said that the matter was being investigated. The incident didn’t hamper the bus services, he claimed.
