The owner of this mobile had tried contacting his relatives. His last call was to a relative in Gulbarga, he added.

In a miraculous way Kashibai (5), a five-year-old girl was rescued unhurt. There seemed to be no signs of fear on the face of the girl despite being trapped under the rubble for more than 40 hours, devoid of food and water. However, her mother and two-year-old younger sister Kavita (2) were found dead.

Meanwhile, SP Seemanth Kumar Singh informed that the contractor of the building Somashekar has been arrested.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who visited Gandhinagar on Thursday, said that with respect to the sub-standard construction both the officials who have given permission and the contractor will be held responsible.

He declared Rs one lakh compensation to the family of the deceased and Rs 25,000 compensation to the injured along with free treatment at any hospital.
