Gurdas Maan's wife debuts as director

The film, produced by Maan, is about the journey of an armyman who overcomes social indignity to uphold the morals of the army and the honour of a woman rejected by society and family.

The film, scheduled for February 12 release, also has Divya Dutta, Anoop Soni in pivotal roles."The film depicts the good and evil that lie within each of us, however, when faced with exceptional circumstances each person acts differently. It shows us that sometimes we have to make choices that are not always accepted by society. 'Sukhmani' shows us that there is hope for life...," Manjeet told reporters here.
"Sukhmani is a very special film to me in many ways starting from the film marking debut of my wife as a director to my hat trick with Juhi," Maan said.

While according to Juhi, the film is close to her heart because, "The story takes you into a world of emotions which would capture your heart and mind totally."

"Taking the responsibility of direction was a big challenge and now the verdict is in the audience court. I am keeping my fingers crossed," Manjeet said.

Lyrics have been penned by Maan, who has also lent his voice to the songs with Shreya Ghoshal and other Punjabi singers. Juhi also shares the credit for playback singing for two songs in the film.
