<p>A two-year-old female leopard, which was found injured at Bandilakanakoppalu village near here on Tuesday, died after treatment failed. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The leopard was spotted near Aaluramma temple in the village and residents alerted the Forest Department. <br /><br />Forest officials quickly rescued it and shifted it to the veterinary hospital in Halebeedu town. <br />But the animal failed to respond to treatment and its carcass was sent to the Veterinary College in Hassan. <br /><br />Officials suspect that the leopard had fought with a boar or porcupine a few days ago as a deep wound was found on its head. <br /><br />Assistant Veterinary Director Dr Umapathy and DCF Sannananjappa took efforts to treat the leopard, but in vain. <br /><br /></p>
