Residents of Hosapura staged a protest on Thursday, demanding the arrest of the murderers of Nagesh, 26, by keeping the body of the victim near the mortuary of the hospital.
The protesters, in association with various organisations, also demanded that the family of the victim be recompensed.
Arrest
The Chikkamagaluru rural police, meanwhile, have taken Sunil, Rudresh and Dakshayiniyamma into custody, in relation to the murder of Nagesh. Naveen, the brother of the victim complained that Nagesh was murdered by Hosapura resident Sunil.
He added that Rudresh and Dakshayiniyamma had motivated Sunil in the crime, as Nagesh had not voted for Dakshayiniyamma in the last gram panchayat elections.
Tahsildar Shivanna promised to consider the demand for compensation.
