This exhibition comprises 18 works by artists Nankusia Shyam, Durga Bai Vyam, who are national award winners from Gond, and Sreeraj V P who does the mural traditions of Kerala.
Keeping their roots alive, these artists have contemporised their art forms using narratives from folklore, the social and rural landscapes and their mythical symbols of rituals in their art. Breaking out of traditional modes, Nankushia Shyam and Burga Bai Vyam have contemporarised folk art as they create images of animals and mythical figures.

On the other hand, Sreeraj V P uses the ancient mural tradition to create contemporary and traditional images. The artist uses a vibrant colour palette of orange, green, yellow and red with fluidity to create his compositions. Colours merge spontaneously as the images leave one with a tranquil mood of happiness.

On till June 12, between 10.30 am and 6 pm, the exhibition explores the various traditions through the form of artistic expressions.
