Neighbours and friends shocked

As the news of Indrani Mukerjea’s arrest reached Guwahati, friends of Sheena Bora expressed shock and demanded justice in the case.

Recalling Sheena as a well-mannered sweet girl, her friends said they lost touch with her after she went to Mumbai. They spoke to Deccan Herald in front of Sheena’s home in Sundarpur locality of Guwahati, where she was brought up by her grand parents.

“We studied together from primary school till Class 10. She was a well-mannered and good girl. We were aware that she and her brother were staying with their grandparents and that there was a family issue. But we never asked her for such details. She met me in a common friend’s wedding in Guwahati in 2011,” said one of the classmates on condition of anonymity.

Her younger brother Mikhail said Sheena was also his friend. She completed her schooling from Disneyland High School in Guwahati and went to Mumbai in 2008, which was the first time she met Indrani. She joined St Xavier’s College there.

Neighbours claimed that they have seen Indrani even after the two children were born but never did they see her husband. Then she suddenly vanished and the family kept itself isolated’ from the neighbourhood.

A family source said Sheena was going through mental trauma in 2012 before she went missing. She was even admitted in a mental asylum for treatment. Police were yet to corroborate this information.
