100 vehicles booked for permit violations

The enforcement team of the Transport Department on Wednesday conducted a drive near Mysore Bank Circle, Corporation Circle, and High Grounds for various violations and seized more than 100 vehicles for permit violations.

Private vehicles, including buses, maxi cabs, private cars and two wheelers, were subjected for checking. A total of 2,000 vehicles were checked and more than 100 vehicles were seized for various violations.

Private buses, maxi cabs were booked for various permit violations and outstation cars for non-payment of tax, tinted glasses and defective number plates. Also, many two-wheeler drivers were booked for different offences like using mobile phones while riding, riding without helmet, defective number plates, tampering of silencers, especially bullet motorbikes and not carrying valid documents, the Transport department officials said.
