Brushing aside Uddhav’s charge published in Saamna that “the Congress leader has insulted Mumbai cops by saying that it was NSG commandos from Bihar and UP who had killed the terrorists during 26/11 attack,” Rahul said he was not interested in what Bal Thackeray, Raj or Uddhav had to say.
“All I want to say is that every part of India belongs to every Indian. And if some body is beaten up in any part of the country, I will not remain a silent spectator,” Rahul asserted.
He, however, added that it was a misconception that the Chavan government in Maharshtra had not acted against those who had unleashed a reign of terror against Biharis.
“Please go and check the records. All those who have indulged in violence and arson have been booked,” he replied to a specific query as to why the MNS and the Shiv Sena activists have gone unpunished.
Meanwhile in Mumbai, Uddhav hit back at the Congress leader saying, “Rahul Gandhi has insulted the bravery of martyrs like Hemant Karkare, Ashok Kamte, Vijay Salaskar, Tukaram Omble, all daring Marathi policemen, and NSG Major Sandeep Unnikrishan.”
“Where was Rahul when Mumbai was attacked,” Uddhav was quoted in Saamna.
Addressing a press conference in Patna, Rahul had said: “In Mumbai (during the terror attacks), men in the NSG were from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra. At that time they (Sena) did not say that those from Bihar and UP should be taken out. India has to move forward and all have to be taken forward.”
Taking a swipe at the two Sena outfits, he had added: “If terrorists have to be fought with, let Biharis remain there.”
