DH-PV Citizens For Change session in Rajajinagar tomorrow

Taking forward the Citizens for Change initiative that was started ahead of the recent Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections, Deccan Herald and Prajavani are arranging interactive sessions between residents/Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and elected representatives in all Assembly constituencies of the City, starting on October 3.

The first such session will be held in Rajajinagar Assembly constituency on Saturday. Ahead of the BBMP elections held on August 22, Deccan Herald and Prajavani had asked residents to pose their questions on drinking water shortage, garbage disposal, cleanliness, bad roads and footpaths, streetlights, road safety, stray dog/cattle menace, parks and lakes to the candidates contesting from their respective wards. Many RWAs/residents responded, getting signed undertakings from the candidates that they will address the listed grievances once elected.

It is now time for residents of the Rajajinagar Assembly constituency to directly connect with their corporators, many of whom are first-timers. The interactive session will provide residents an opportunity to know and partner with their corporators and collectively develop their ward and build a better Bengaluru.

Rajajinagar MLA and former minister S Suresh Kumar will be present at the interactive session along with corporators representing the seven wards in the constituency, Kumari Palanikanth (ward No 97, Dayanandanagar), Padmavathi G (ward number 98, Prakashnagar), Umavathi Padmaraj (ward number 100, Basaveshwaranagar), Prathima R (ward number 101, Kamakshipalya), Manjula Vijayakumar (ward number 107, Shivanagar) and Deepa Nagesh (ward number 108, Ram Mandir). Officials from BBMP and other government departments will also be present.

RWAs/residents can email the top 10 problems/grievances related to their wards to dhpvcitizensforchange@deccanherald.co.in, ahead of Saturday’s session. For clarifications/details contact: Prathap E L (9845171343); Lakshmi Prasanna (9449017378) or Shridhar (9845950951).
