A five-year-old boy was bitten by a python at Pakkalu near Perdur.
On Vijayadashami, Saakshath, son of Santhosh Shetty of Kolibettu in Pakkalu, visited Yakshimutt along with his family.

After completing puja, the family was walking down a narrow lane with an overgrowth of grass.

A python grabbed Saakshath’s leg and he fell down. When he rolled and struggled, the python weakened its hold on his leg and the boy kicked free of the serpent.

They were just 15 feet away from their house when the incident occurred.
The boy was bleeding profusely and was rushed to a hospital in Hiriyadka.
Snake expert Gururaj Sanil said “This is the season when pythons come out in the open. The boy must have stepped on it unknowingly and it must have grabbed him in fear. The injuries on the boy’s legs were caused when he pulled his leg away.”
